“I wanted the chair to feel like it was growing back into nature — reclaiming itself through wood and fibre.”
About the Artist
Zayd Menk is a Zimbabwean-born interdisciplinary artist based in the UK. His practice primarily involves sculpture and installation, utilizing electronic waste to create interactive works that explore the ethical, social, and ecological implications of modern technology. Menk's art delves into issues such as obsolescence, extractivism, and human agency, examining the paradoxes inherent in our relationships with technology. He is an alumnus of New Contemporaries (2023) and holds a BA in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
