About the Artist
Catalin Filip is a Romanian-born, UK-based artist and designer known for his sculptural ceramic works. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, he creates forms that capture the organic distortions found in wind-bent trees and carved hills. As a self-taught ceramicist with a background in architecture, Filip employs an intuitive, experimental approach to his craft. His pieces, often resembling stone-like structures, embody a balance between artistic expression and functional design. Sustainability is integral to his practice, with a focus on small-batch production and the use of locally sourced materials. Filip's work has been exhibited internationally, including in London, Eindhoven, Bucharest, Athens, and Guadalajara, reflecting his evolving cultural and creative journey.
