About the Artist
Mary West is a London-based painter whose work explores the interplay of light, space, and texture within the landscape. Trained at the Slade School of Fine Art, she employs oil paints to create emotive, layered compositions that blur the lines between abstraction and figuration. Drawing inspiration from personal memories and shared experiences, her intuitive mark-making process allows the paint to evolve organically, resulting in dynamic and expressive pieces. Mary's paintings have found homes in private collections across Europe, the USA, Australia, and Asia. She is also the co-author of Making Murals, a practical guide to mural painting, and collaborates with artist Clara Wilkinson under the name Living Wall Murals.
